I have a 7-year old niece who I regularly talk to over Facetime because she lives in a different state. Our usual topics include her love for Barbie and dollhouses. Yesterday, I was surprised to hear her talk nonstop about the sky. She’s fascinated by anything found up there – the clouds, stars, moon, rainbow, and the sun.
She loves the sky so much that her father decided to bring the sky into her bedroom. Have you seen those cloud lamps that are all the rage these days? Some have very hefty price tags attached to them – like thousands of dollars hefty. But no, they didn’t buy one. They made their own through a DIY project they found over the Internet.
The cloud has become a very nice addition to my niece’s room. It’s unique and brings in a lot of character. Now she rarely wants to go out. I can’t say I blame her!
