DIY Concrete Garden Bed Brace

Growing your own produce is a great way to cut on food cost. Building your own raised garden bed is a perfect start. However you will find that through years of gardening, you’ll have to replace end boards of your raised bed due to rotting.


These corner braces made from concrete is the solution. This will make your raised bed a more permanent installation as the corner brace are no longer susceptible to rotting.

This project will require very little investment in terms of time, money and effort. All of the materials you will need are available in your local hardware. You can also alter the dimension to fit your needs. Overall it increases the lifespan of your raised garden bed, lessens maintenance, and allows you to grow more produce. Here’s what you’ll need…

  • 2×8’s Lumber
  • ¼” Plywood
  • Wire Mesh (Rabbit Wire)
  • Ready Mix Concrete
  • Water
  • Vegetable Oil
  • 5/16” Bolts
  • Washers
  • ½” PVC Pipes
  • Drywall Screws


  • Trowel
  • Tub/Wheelbarrow for mixing concrete
  • Saw
  • Wire Cutter
  • Paint Brush



Create a mould out of 1/4″ plywood and 1×6 lumber, and assemble it using drywall screws for easy dis-assembly later on when the concrete has dried.


Note that there are two holes on each side of the mould. This is where the bolts will go which will hold the 1/2″ diameter PVC pipes.

A rabbit wire mesh should be enough for concrete reinforcement.
