Garden Trellis From Old Bike Tires

Here’s another great example of upcycling! It’s easy to find old (and not so old) bikes that have fallen out of favor. We’ve done posts on using bikes for everything from generating power to building fences. This simple idea just takes the two wheels and turns them into a trellis!

A great upcycling idea using old bike wheels!

Thousands of bikes are dumped every week so getting hold of a wheel or ten shouldn’t be too hard. Add a little of your time and you can have a stunning flower tower or a great crop of peas or beans in no time! Involve the kids and plant sweet peas. They see them grow day by day and will be rewarded by the masses of sweetly scented blooms.

Because this trellis design is so compact, you can put it anywhere in your garden according to the needs of the plants – hot sun or cool shade or even pushed into a corner of your yard.
